Sanding & Polishing
New or Old, solid timber flooring can be sanded back and coated bringing out the beauty of the natural product while protecting it from every day life. We offer both Water based coating and Polyurethane coating, all our systems entail 3 coats.
Water based allowed for a more natural finish and maintains the original colour of the boards coming in both semi gloss and matt finishes. Polyurethane on the other hand, is an older system, it offers gloss, semi gloss and satin finishs, and although extrermly durable, it dose yellow with age, losing the natural touch of the timber.
Direct Staining
Particular timber species may lack the colour or feature that you are trying to obtain. The is where staining options can be looked at.
We follow direct staining methods in which a particular colour is selected and then applied to the raw timber. This allows for the grain to inherit the new colour, increasing the features of the timbers natural look. Each direct stain flooring is then coated with 3 coats of either polyurethane or water based system.
The Refresh
After 10 + years post sanding and polishing, many of us will find our floors worn and if you had polyurethane, yellowed. We specialise in giving the timber flooring a second lease of life. We come on, sand the flooring back to the raw board and then apply your choice of coating, giving your beautiful timber flooring a another round for at least the next 10 years.
